In 1983 William Steitz and Rupert Finegold published Silversmithing, a comprehensive technical manual on the craft and profession of the silversmith. The illustration to the left can be found in chapter 38, on page 331, fig 38-1 a sample of the many forms
that can be created through raising, with or without crimping. These forms have been rendered in metal at a handsome scale. The average height of the vessels on the bottom two rows is approximately nine inches tall.
